Pirith  පිරිත්  

Pirith (Paritta) is a Sinhala word which means protection.This is a recitation or chanting of the word of the Lord Buddha. It can be done individually or as a group. originally this recitation was initiated as a simple approval of truth or the invoking of blessings through the power of the iternal virtues of a person.
